5th Hole at Royal Dornoch

About

This original oil painting was created live on-site during the Royal Dornoch Member-Guest tournament. Set up at the 5th tee box with the real green in view, the painting draws from both an early morning reference photograph taken earlier in the week and the landscape itself, blending the entertainment of live event painting with the observational studies of plein air work. On the final night of the event, the painting was auctioned as part of the evening dinner, raising £3,000 for charity. The total weekend raised £26,000, benefiting two local charities, Mikey's Line (Learn more at @mikeysline_) and East Sutherland Rescue Association (@esraphotosdornoch), both providing vital lifelines to the Highland community.
